I haven’t done this type of thing since Digimon Savers Thought, and apparently it takes Digimon Savers’s Series Composition staff Yamaguchi Ryouta also doing this series to motivate me enough to do this again. Thus… here we are!
2026 is Digimon Savers’s 20th anniversary as well, so it’s going to be a hot year ahead for my personal projects.
A lot about the world and my personal circumstances have changed since then, but I’m still going to do this in the spirit that I can work with~
I may not be able to do this week-to-week as I did with Savers, but we’ll just have to see what happens! I mean, I was already exactly one week behind on getting this first image up, but we all start somewhere.
I’m really glad for Miyumiyu’s casting here. I’ve always loved his voice; he elicits adolescent emotions with seemingly utter ease and I’m all for it. XD
I didn’t realize until the second watch that Nakapan was saying bukkorori, the same way his character miswrote it.
But yeah, he was peak “I’ve only known him for 5 minutes but”
Gekkomon’s kinda cute and bleppy (I honestly think his particular speech pattern is a little unnecessary, but I think that about most particular speech patterns dattebayo), and it’s amusing that he’s held up a bit of a tradition of the main MC’s Digimon having an insatiable appetite… More on this in ep 2 since I did already see it and will put up the entry right after this.
The ending song… There aren’t really times for me to do this anymore, but back when I was a little kid, I did a lot of roadtripping. I’d spend a lot of time in the passenger’s seat, staring out at the roads we were speeding by. At times, I’d imagine a creature dashing through, parkouring through the blurred rails, the trees, the tall highway lights… Super Mario platforming on speed.
Gekkomon just goes out and does it. Straight up enacting the memory.
